Entry Level Job Opening in Des Moines, IA Contract Bond Underwriter – Entry Level, Merchants Bonding Company Known for our disciplined but common sense approach to underwriting while maintaining exceptional loss ratios, Merchants Bonding has achieved the ranking of the number one surety bond writer in Iowa and 15th nationwide. We evaluate the merits of each case independently rather than adhering to a strict set of rules that could be limiting for our agent community. We can fulfill a range of bonding needs from commercial and fidelity bonds to a variety of contract bonds. Our continued success has created the need for a Contract Bond Underwriter at the entry level who will be primarily responsible to learn underwriting principles, processes and standards. They will work closely with experienced senior underwriters to learn how to analyze and evaluate contract bond applications and financial documentation in order to make recommendations as to the acceptable risks for new and existing business. Entry level underwriters will also have the opportunity to shadow more experienced underwriters to learn how to build and maintain agency relationships and identify potential business opportunities. Our underwriters work in regional teams and travel 20% of the time to their assigned areas but are based out of the Corporate Headquarters in Des Moines, IA. If you would like to be part of one of the largest and most well-respected surety writers in the United States, submit your resume to Merchants Bonding at jobs@merchantsbonding.
