Environmental Leadership Program Deadline: 26 January 2015 OVERVIEW: Kinship Conservation Fellows is a groundbreaking environmental leadership program that emphasizes market-based solutions to environmental problems. Kinships dynamic global network of 210 Fellows in 48 countries and 6 continents is collaborative, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to effective conservation. The 2015 Program takes place from Sunday, 28 June - 29 July 2015 in Bellingham, Washington. ELIGIBILITY: In order to be considered for the program, applicants will need first to meet the following requirements: - Possess a minimum of a four-year college degree (or its overseas equivalent) - Have a minimum of five years relevant work experience after your degree - Be proficient in spoken and written English - Be a conservation practitioner (rather than an academic or researcher) HOW to APPLY: Online applications can be accessed through this link: kinshipfellows.org/application/login When completing the form you will be required to submit the following in an acceptable format: 1) A statement in 150 words or less summarizing your leadership experience. 2) A statement in 250 words or less of why you want to attend Kinship and what you see yourself doing in five years. 3) A statement in 250 words or less of your experience working with market-based tools. 4) A project description, no more than 500 words, describing an environmental issue related to your work and your plans for developing a solution using market approaches. 5) Your resume, which should reflect at least five years of experience working in an environmental field. 6) A photo of yourself. 7) Two letters of recommendation, one from your current employer and one from a colleague. The selection panel is trying to assess each applicants leadership capacity. Specific examples of the following would be appreciated: + Your ability to take action on conservation issues. + Your ability to mobilize and motivate others + Your capacity to produce innovative solutions to complex environmental problems + Your potential to contribute to an ongoing community of leaders Please note: Letters of recommendation must be submitted to us directly by the recommender. They cannot be uploaded to your application. If possible, please limit letters to one page each.
