Environmental Policy Officer - Canterbury This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated Environmental Policy Officer to be involved in various environmental initiatives within our Environmental Strategy Team. As our Environmental Policy Officer, you will develop and deliver our environmental policies and programs and implement programs directed at improving our environmental performance, by providing information and education to our staff. You will also be involved in various community programs, including supporting local schools in sustainability initiatives by facilitating a teachers network, delivering a grant and awards program, and preparing a quarterly newsletter. This is a challenging and rewarding position where the successful applicant will undertake corporate water and energy efficiency projects, including implementation of the regional Our Energy Future: Renewable Energy Master Plan and the management, monitoring and reporting of our web-based Environmental Management System. The successful applicant, will posses a proactive attitude and passion for environmental sustainability, which will further enhance an already successful team. Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications (University Degree) in an Environmental or related discipline Demonstrated experience in the fields of environmental management and policy Demonstrated awareness and understanding of environmental legislation Demonstrated project management skills, including organisation and time management Ability to operate independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Effective complaints handling skills and experience Demonstrated competency in application of standard office software with proficiency in Excel Current NSW Driver Licence Desirable Criteria Skills in budget development and monitoring Demonstrated negotiation skills Demonstrated experience in managing environmental education programs Salary is within the range of $1,363.66 to $1,425.95 per week.
