Envy can stop the flow of God’s blessings upon your life Envy is one deadly sin that many possess and do not know it. Envy can affect the flow of God’s blessings upon your life. What is Envy? Envy is best defined as an emotion that occurs when a person lacks another’s (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it. Envy is the feeling of displeasure produced by witnessing or hearing of the advantage or prosperity of others. People driven by envy can’t stand someone else enjoying a benefit they are not also able to enjoy it. Why should we put away envy? Because the word of God says in Galatians 5:21 “Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” So you will not experience the presence of God in your life now and eternity if you have envy flowing in you. Many people possess this deadly thing in them without knowing it. Take time out to think of the people that have shared their testimonies with you or in the church; Were you really happy and did you congratulate them joyfully? Instead of being offended at someone who has achieved what you are struggling to get, simply find out how he is making it, because God has no favourites, if you do what others are doing, the way they are doing it, you will get the same blessings. Remember that envy can stop the flow of God’s blessings upon your life, that is why you must not allow it around you. You thought your way into this, now think your way out of it. Kick out these thoughts whenever they come into you. You choose your thoughts, you think the thoughts that you choose, and that is how you got these feelings of envy. The choices you’ve made have gotten you into this situation, so make new choices. Change your thoughts; change the values that you’re embracing and the beliefs that you’re holding near and dear.
