Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Just to clarify, I dont keep the commandments to be saved. I keep them because I am saved. We are saved by grace, through faith and there isnt a single thing that we can add to that. For that I am eternally grateful. Verse 10, however, tells us that after we are redeemed that there are works that we are to walk in. They arent works that we define and make up as we go. They were BEFORE ordained. We can break it down in its simplest form: Matt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But, there again, we are not free to define what that love is and how we are to walk it out. Matt 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. In other words, to keep the two, keep the ten. To keep the ten, keep the other 603 to the best of your ability. When we accept the saving power of the blood, we are coming into a covenant that we cannot add a single thing to. Who are we to try to define the terms of the covenant when he has before ordained them that we should walk in them? Shalom and Blessings
