Eph 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. What good works shall we walk in now that we have grace because of Christ? The good works are not a new commandment but that which was from the beginning, the commandments of the Torah that we should walk in it. 2 John 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. The good works are the ancient paths, the walk of the Torah given beforehand to the children of Israel and those joined to them. When salvation was opened to the gentiles (heathen) through Christs sacrifice, they may now be GRAFTED IN to Israel- they are no longer heathen- but children of YHVH. Ezek 20:19 I am YHVH your God; walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and observe them. Now obviously, the punishments contained in the law is no longer our responsibility to hand out, and the sacrifices were completed by one eternal sacrifice.... but His instructions on how to act, eat, do work, etc.... are good instructions, loving words for His children -Israel- to follow... Remember His FIRST promise? Honor your mother and Father comes with a promise.... do u know it? Honor your Father, who gives you grace, by doing what is right and following His instructions for life.
