Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor - TopicsExpress

Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Hebrews 12:15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD. Fellow Bible - believing Christian. Hatred, resentment, malice are just what they are :Hatred, resentment, malice!!! You cannot claim to be a Christian and have a selective exhibition of these vices. If you can tolerate people of other faith whose decision, in your opinion, has eternal consequences, how then will you resent your own brother in the faith for holding am opposing political view to yours??? Let me cut to the chase. What is really inside of you came out at that moment when you took a fellow Christian to the cleaners because he doesnt share your political views. Simple! Im going to borrow the message of a sister and friend on Facebook and Im sharing below, hoping it drives home my point.... I recall during the last 2011 elections, my husband and I held hands and walked to the polling unit. We voted for different governorship and presidential candidates then. After that, we went home together, ate from the same plate and slept on the same bed that night. No hard feelings. Christie, Uche and I have been friends for more than 25 years. Their husbands served governments that I criticize every day. Yet, I visit and stay in their homes where I am overly pampered. Right from their living rooms, I have posted updates, written articles lambasting the government departments that their husbands work for. We all remain friends till this day. No hard feelings. If you suddenly feel bitter, hateful and hold murderous thoughts about anyone who has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO YOU, except share a different political view with you, then, there is something deeper that is wrong. If you are sincere to yourself, you will realize that “politics” is a mere smokescreen for your suicidal bitterness. If you search your soul deeply, you will see that you are simply using the differentials in political perspectives to mask your personal insecurities, unfounded animosity and deep-seated resentment towards someone else. I think you should leave politics alone and deal with your unexpressed insecurities. The earlier you rescue yourself from this self-destruct path, the better for you! Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri...
