Ephesians 4:32 Forgive 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. I am well aware that I am incapable of perfection, yet expect others to treat me exactly as I believe I should be treated. This double standard presents a barrier to love and peace. We often read certain scriptures as admonitions and not as the gift that they truly are. Forgiveness is a cornerstone in our relationships. When we are unable to forgive, we carry the burden of animosity that makes us incapable of love. Unconditional love and forgiveness are gifts freely given by God through Christ, that make our own lives blossom when we extend them. When we forgive, we temper our pride by acknowledging our capacity to trespass, and our own need for forgiveness. When we forgive, we allow ourselves to heal. When we forgive, we give and receive peace. When we forgive, we love.
