Ephesians 6:2-3 NIV “Honor your father and mother”---which is the first commandment with a promise--- [3] “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” (compare with Deuteronomy 5:16). Paul substantiated the relevance of Gods moral law in the era of grace. I love talking about this commandment because I come from a family with long lives who truly are very respectful to their parents. We were raised never to talk back and in my family we have a decibel limit to the volume of our voice lol. Im the wildest among all women from my ancestry as shaped by my environment hahaha coz my grandma and mom were extremely mild mannered. I have never seen my father, who is a soldier cry. The first was when my mothers mother passed away coz he said she was the kindest person he has ever known and second was when my mother died. I have never even heard my parents fight. They always go to another room to argue in a normal conversation! They lived up to more than 100 and none died below 70 except my grandfather who was a soldier during WW2. Not only do my immediate and very close family on my mothers side die old, the go really quick. They all passed away by severe cerebro-vascular stroke. I claim this inheritance :) especially the quick part hehe. I do my best to honor God and His Word so that my family would be blesssed to a thousand generations. Then I would be able to sing to my great great great grandchildren Ive loved you for a thousand years. Id love you for a thousand more.
