Epilepsy Awareness Month Jessies story as told by her mum - Tina Jane Standing Its lovely to see a page devoted to dogs and epilepsy. My dear border terrier, Jessie began to have seizures at age 2. We were able to keep it under control with diet for 9 years. A year ago her disease spun wildly out of control and she was having seizure after seizure. I wouldnt give up on her because in between fits she would want to play. At one point we did discuss if it was her time and I said I really felt she wasnt ready and at that instant she turned around and licked my face ! After a few scary days and nights we finally got her stabilized and found the medication combo that worked for her. Shes a warrior and I love her to the moon. Shes 12 this year and still doing her favourite things so we keep fighting to keep her healthy. I have her vet , Dr Tompkins and his staff to thank for not giving up on her. ***************************************************** Im glad you are still here epi champion Jessie, keep strong, you are a fighter and super adorable
