Epiphany: What if the uncontrollable act of kissing your newborn repeatedly for years is natures way of compelling you to transfer your bacterial flora to your offspring? If every healthy person is defined by their bacterial flora, both on the skin and in their digestive system, then have you ever wondered how they get the majority of them in the first place? Surely not through our artificial food and well cooked meals. And the mother really only transfers her vaginal flora to a newborn via childbirth. And of course, Cesarean-delivered babies do not receive this glaze of beneficial bacteria. Also, there are microbes that are beneficial but do not reside in the parents vagina or skin, they live in the mouth. So wouldnt it follow that the act of kissing, one of our most beloved and universal signs of affection, is merely natures way to have us inoculate our children with these microbes? I think that anyone that thinks that their mind is their own and humans are the masters of the Earth are sadly mistaking. /TL;DR
