Episode 3 Discussion **May contain SPOILERS** Lets start with... Toph: Shes still badass. Actually I think shes more badass now then when she was younger. My prediction about her not putting up with Korras crap was right; she didnt put up with Aangs crap just because he was the Avatar and shes not going to put up with Korras. She will make Korra a better bender thats a no brainer... Just because Korra has mastered that bending style theres no reason for her not to learn more. It did amaze me though that Tophs metal bending is so strong that she can pick up the trace amounts of poison left over. Also we got an insight into what type of mother Toph was. She might have been soft she still expected her daughters to learn both metal and earth bending and be masters at it. It was evident that she didnt think that they were any good at metal bending; case in point he comment about Su.... Its clear that she likes the swamp as she is able to see everyone she cares about but I think she misses someone... Who? I dont know. Su: So it came out that she was meant to safeguard the Earth Kingdom and restore piece. I only hope we find out more as to why she didnt. It also looks like the world leaders consider Su and her Zuo fu community as its own nation. It might be that we see Zuo Fu become its own nation.... I can see why the world leaders chose Su to be the go between and talk to Kuvira. She has known Kuvira for so long and also she just has a natural ease to her. Mako and Bolin: Both brothers think they are doing the right thing. Bolin truly believes the Kuvira is trying to unite the Kingdom, she has come out as a dictator and its clear Bolin doesnt follow her ideals but he doesnt know how to get out of it. Bolin is a soft hearted teddy bear. Mako has seen the real world. Kuvira didnt even need to tell the world that she was taking over he knew. And he will fight against her and try to protect his brother. How hes going to put up with the royal brat... Well I dont know. Korra: Shes clearly fighting with herself. She doesnt want to be the Avatar anymore and shes going to use the metal poisoning as an excuse. Case in point: when Toph tried to remove what was left of the poison and Korra not wanting to relax, thus Toph giving up and telling her to remove the poison herself - something that wont be easy to do. Toph is going to challenge her and Korra wont like it but thats whats needed. Katara sat and took Korras outburst, her parents just allowed her to sit there, Tenzin took the wimps approach to dealing with her. Everyone walks on eggshells around her. Toph isnt going to do that. Shes going to tell her to get up and get over herself and if need to beat the living crap out of her. Kuvira: Where we had Hitler, they have Kuvira. Kuvira started out with the right intentions but they have somehow morphed into a dictator. She would rather bring a war to the nation she just conquered then to just hand it over peacefully. When her and Su fight (weve seen how that ends in the trailer) I believe that could be an interesting battle. Thoughts??? ~ Raava
