Eradicating corruption can see India as a world power within a decade! Mr Narendra modi, the honourable prime minister says that he will not use Indian fund for his benefit neither he wound let other do it. I admire him for this and as we know he is the good honest administrator who can do it. Many people might be wondering that this is a big financial loss to them. Yes, initially it may be a loss to many, especially wrong doorer, but eventually we all will be richer and happier. If we all work honestly to give the best to the citizens of India, our efficiency would increase many times. Our national income will increase very substantially. We will be the beneficiary of it and our pay will increase. We should concentrate to provide the best help and services to our citizens and customers rather than wasting time to get unjust money and favour. One advantage of working honestly is although the salary for everybody will increase, the reward for meritorious and genuine people will increase more, and I am sure every body would love this. This will promote merit in our country. For the prevention and cure of corruption every one needs to be honest, our prime ministers and his ministers more so than general public. With Mr Modi we certainly have that. With honest people at top, general public people feel that there is someone at top who will listen to my problem & everybody has some concern in doing any wrong. Life is much easier when rules are followed. Breaking rules is not fun; it only creates mess that makes life more complicated. The real joy is in having an environment where dirt, poverty and unethical rivalry are minimal along with some material amenities. Thus becoming honest is not only spiritual, it has lots of practical benefit. India can develop fairly quickly if both the administration and general public work together and get rid of corruption. I can see India becoming a superpower people within a decade, speed will depend on us. Let us support Mr Modi as long as possible to serve as a prime minister. If he works for long his anti corruption measures will make us gradually honest and it will become our second nature. It is not that we Indians do not work. We probably work harder than people in the West. We do not have a system. People in the west have better quality of life and has more fun. This is not hearsay but I am telling you from my work experience in UK as a Consultant Physician. All of Indians who migrate to west has done extremely well, given the proper working conditions. Why can’t we create the same working conditions in India as well? Klitgaard postulates that corruption will occur if the corrupt gain is greater than the penalty multiplied by the likelihood of being caught and prosecuted: Corrupt gain > Penalty × Likelihood of being caught and prosecuted People who do serious crimes should have a heavy financial penalty. There money should go to government of India where the money could be used to educate and skill our students. They should be given community work around their residence, which will be very embarrassing for them. One great advantage to India in comparison to the rest of world is our demographic profile. This country has the youngest population in the world and more people to work. We have seen the pain of growing so many kids and under development. Now if we can provide jobs to every body India will soon be a developed nation. A cricket team is as good as its individual player and not only on the captain. Each citizen has a duty to the nation before he can expect any thing from nation. For the development of a country administration and Individuals are not 1+1= 2. They may not be 11, but could be 5 or 6. We need to introspect ourselves. Now we have Jan Lokpal, thanks to Sri Anna Hazare and his team. Lokpal with some sharper teeth could be very useful in cutting down the corruption of our public servants. Some technological development like E-governance would help us as well. If all of us plan that I would not offer bribe nor accept it, things should improve dramatically. The self certification of the applicant’s document is a very good idea. It would be difficult for many to become 100% honest initially in a rather corrupt society, but every one must appreciate that it the honesty best policy to make us happy and rich. We should start gradually and try to improve gradually, when we will see the society improving, tell our friends about it and get the result back. This is our problem. No one is going to sort this out and only we will have to deal with it. Being honest will also help people from other countries to fulfil the “Made in India” plan of Mr Narendra Modi, where he is requesting the whole world to invest in India and this will greatly help unemployment in India. His “Minimum Government and Maximum Governance” and Single Window clearance will cut down corruption and get the things done quickly. Jai Hind. Correct me if I am wrong and please interact.
