Muhammed Ahmedullah and I had ongoing debates for years about the Sylhetis having a prominent presence in British life- He was forever upset that we the Sylhetis get overwhelming acknowledgement- I told him time and again that by simply the majority of us being here - and this alone is a fact - and this is most obvious.- whether he liked it or not. He was not satisfied - taking our historical presence here as a fact -and wanted to divert attention away from Sylhet and Sylhetis and mounted an an Exhibition on Dhaka - as Sylhet and Sylhetis are not the only place and people from Bangladesh. Ahmedullahs hatred for Sylhetis came even more visible when I had tried to get some debate going on around Monica Alis novel - and the ways she abused our community.Ahmedullah did not wanted to go ahead and have any debates organised - I had even more struggle with him when Gulam Murshid did the same thing with his apparent history of our presence here. I could not get a single event organised in questioning both Gulam Murshid and Monica Ali. Muhammed Ahmedullah s only excuse is I dont hate Sylhetis Two of my company members are from Sylhet............... Two of his native informant that is............ It seems Muhammed (Ahmedullah ) is fixated with three other Ms Monica- Murshid-Mushtaq. I do not know anything about Mr Mushtaq Ahmed and his views on Sylhetis presence here- but I definitely know from reading Monica Ali - Gulam Murshid and talking to Muhammad Ahmedullah how much they have in common when it comes to Sylhet- Sylhetis ........
