Erev Shabbos, Parshas Devarim Shabbos Chazon - Shabbos of Vision This weeks Haftorah, the third in the series of Haftorahs relating to the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash/Holy Temple begins with the words Chazon Yeshayahu - the vision of Isaiah. Although it tells of the vision of impending destruction, we do not refer to this week as Shabbos of destruction, rather Shabbos of Vision! for the prophet Yeshayahu also tells us of the redemption of Zion with judgement and the returnees with tzedakah, and it is this vision that we keep uppermost in our daily prayers. Let us continue to obliterate the visions of tunnels in our land and let them be replaced with tunnel vision; singleminded focus on Torah and mitzvot. We remain committed to redouble our efforts in Torah and mitzvot and beseech Hashem to redeem us. For as the days progress in our journey toward peace, it is abundantly clear: אין לנו על מי להשען אלא על אבינו שבשמים We have on no one else to rely upon other than Our Father in Heaven! May we merit that this Tisha Bav be one of joy and redemption.
