Eric surprised me with the best gift ever this year -TIME... as a family, TIME to be together, TIME to sing, dance, and to make memories rather than the hustle and bustle & typical mayhem and pressure. We actually made a checklist that each endeavor must pass in order to be worth of our valuable minutes and discussed how to not allow it to be siphoned from outside sources no matter what, otherwise you turn around and the TIME is then gone. We have made a choice to only spend those precious minutes on positives, if we look back and time was exerted in a negative way, then it was wasted time and that TIME is too valuable to waste and we will no longer allow that to happen. In the past few months we made it a focus to use this gift to the best of our ability and it feels wonderful, it brings peace to our souls and to our home. In years past there was so much pressure and so much to do that we did not use this priceless gift as our most precious asset. When we got a stark wake up call on health this year and time in our household together could be gone in a flash, we realized a change was a must. You just never know how much TIME you have here on Earth. Take care of the minutes because the hours will take care of themselves. This is our new season and philosophy for 2015 and I cannot think of a better one for our family. We have decided that no one can steal our moments, every thing we do is a choice we make, and each choice comes with a high price of TIME. We can still reach out and help, do for others, spend time on devices, etc., but we have to draw that line and stand true to ourselves, to our moments here on Earth. We have realized saying NO is not a negative, it is a positive, in fact it makes us better people in the long run. If we spend TIME with someone, I hope that they know just how special they are to us for us to spend our minutes with them. We are choosing to prioritize and minimize (yes I said that- who knew??) and tho some do not understand or are frustrated by our choice it has brought us so much peace. Those who are upset by our choice to have more TIME to spend on what is important to us, do not really have our best interest at heart and do not need to be considered. I pray that each and every one of you have the TIME with those you want to, and to do what is most impactful to your heart and soul with the minutes you have this year!! Thank you Eric for giving me your most valuable gift, TIME... I pray this year we are blessed with more of it!
