Erica Garren about an hour ago near Salem Dear Friends: As a Board Member of the Agri-Business Council of Oregon we’re working hard to engage urban Oregonians about where their food and fiber comes from and how it’s produced. Today I’m asking you to help me feed the hungry in Oregon and educate our children. The Agri-Business Council of Oregon and Farmer’s Ending Hunger are partnering in a joint fundraiser that will support their Adopt an Acre program and our Adopt a Farmer program. All you have to do is buy a few golf balls with a chance to win 2 round-trip tickets anywhere that Southwest Airlines flies. On August 9 at the conclusion of our association golf tournament a helicopter will drop all of the purchased golf balls onto a green. The ball that is closest to the pin (or the first one that falls into the hole) will win the airline tickets. You do not need to be present to win. We’re selling the golf balls for $10 apiece; 6 for $50 or 12 for $100. Our goal is to sell 2,000 golf balls. Purchasing golf balls is easy.
