Erwin Müller (1893 − 1978) One of the most interesting German-speaking Czech artists. Piecing together his life-story was made difficult due to the fact that almost all materials of a personal character have been irretrievably lost. However, unlike the work of the other artists from the circle under investigation, and entirely by chance, his work has survived. Müller was a brilliant observer, who strove to capture the stories of everyday life in the background of landscapes teaming with light and colour. The basic questions that arise while looking at the work of Ervin Müller lead us to the period issues of content and form and to clarifying his position in the broader Central European context.
