Espanyol reject a €4.5 million bid for Mubarak Wakaso Espanyol has revealed that the club has received a bid of around €4.5 million for Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso but that the offer was immediately rejected. Espanyol financial vice-president Jose Luis Morlanes has revealed that the Catalan club has received a bit of interest in midfielder Mubarak Wakaso and even stated that a bid has been received and immediately rejected as being too low of a price. “We have received an offer of €4.5 million from a European club for him [Wakaso], but we cannot sell for this amount.” Two clubs believed to be interested in the Ghanaian according to reports from AS are Swansea and Juventus, though it is unknown what club has actually bid for the star midfielder. Espanyol is in need of balancing the financial books but surprisingly has been able to make due with only the sale of Jordi Amat thus far. It is uncertain if Wakaso will remain at the Catalan club with heavy interest being shown, but any club keen on signing the midfielder will need to raise the price quite a bit. I.S.F ANDREW
