Essential Islam is an independent non-profit organisation whose vision is defined by the slogan; ‘Ihya as-Sunnah, which translates as ‘Reviving Sunnah’. We do not call to our own way, and nor do we have our own new agenda. Our foremost intention and goal is to propagate the acquisition of traditional sacred knowledge, followed by being dedicated to strengthening the local and wider communities by creating opportunities, and tackling issues of disadvantage and exclusion. We adhere firmly, without compromise, to the principles of the Prophetic way, and the vast majority of Muslims who have maintained and revived the Sunnah for over fourteen thousand years. We are from the Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah in belief, and we are the followers of the Great Imam - Abu Hanifa (Allah shower His Mercy upon him) - in our Fiqh. Mission ---------- The key to the success and triumph of the Muslim Ummah unequivocally lies in Sacred Knowledge. Only through studying the Sacred Knowledge may we increase the fear of Allah in our hearts, precisely emulate the exemplar of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and follow in the footsteps of the Ulama. In order for the Ummah to regain its intellectual consciousness, and reinstate its sense of civilisation, we need, besides following the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, to adhere to the way of the Ulama that spans over fourteen centuries. This can only be done through reviving the tradition of learning and teaching in Islam; where a teacher represents the spring of knowledge, the exemplar of righteousness, the continuation of the glorious past, and the embodiment of the blessing and light of an unbroken chain of transmission. We aim to achieve this - inshaAllah - by delivering ground-breaking courses, seminars, workshops, discourses, and circles of remembrance. We also offer Islamic counselling, a beneficial questions and answer service, as well as publishing books and articles.
