Essential Jesus Day 91 Acts 1:1-11 In verse 6 Jesus followers were still looking for Him to set up an earthly kingdom: Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel? I love Jesus response! It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Jesus lets them know that their question is none of their business but then goes on to basically tell them that He is going to use them to carry out His mission on earth! Jesus knows they have limited knowledge, limited understanding, and limited gifting to accomplish anything through them! However, Jesus understands the power of the Holy Spirit! Arent you glad that Jesus doesnt expect us to do His work through our own wisdom, understanding and talents? Because the Holy Spirit is also given to us, we can be effective witnesses to the entire world even today...not through our own power but through the Spirits power! Be the hands and feet of Jesus today!
