Esther has strong ties to Guam and understands the unique issues affecting our island, the other territories and the Freely Associated States. I am pleased that President Obama intends to nominate Esther Kia’aina to serve as the next Assistance Secretary of the Interior for Insular Areas. I am confident she will bring a renewed focus on the many challenges facing the territories, and I look forward to supporting her confirmation in the Senate.
