Et ‘ute POPE Okafor I feel compelled to directly address you, - TopicsExpress

Et ‘ute POPE Okafor I feel compelled to directly address you, Mr. Pope Nduka Okafor on your recent submission about the land status between Umuodafe and Delta State government again. No matter the guise you may take, it is essential we began to know the importance of allowing peace to reign for once. I see your post as not only sarcastic but one capable of fanning embers of long term animosity, hatred and violence. But it is just quite unfortunate that the council chairman is too busy and preoccupied to be entangled in such trifles at this time. For quite some time now, we have enjoyed relative peace and tranquil atmosphere on facebook only for you to unearth what I feel is going to brew another round of unhealthy bickering again. Let it be known to you in case you don’t know what is called government acquisition of land. It simply means that all lands belong to the government including any property located inside it. Hence, utilising it at any given time remains their discretion. Surprise as it may seem, I therefore wonder why we like looking for issues where there is none. When has Hon. Innocent Esewezie become the Commissioner for Lands or Environment? Overtime, we have cried over lack of government presence in Ibusa. Now, the economic status of the state is gradually shifting to Ibusa and we are using land ownership to forestall such move. Well, it may be quite unfortunate that the project is affecting Barr. Fred Ajudua’s land. However, let it also be known that his land is not the only one affected in the acquisition. Dr. Tony Azuya’s land is equally affected, likewise other indigenous owners. Besides Fred Ajudua’s is minute compared to Tony Azuya’s expanse plots there. Then, why has the Pope decided to preach this bile-twisting sermon on a Palm Sunday. We all know what follows government acquisition of peoples land everywhere, anywhere. This may end up sending the multi billion naira project away. It is annoying that instead of commending the good leadership of Hon. Innocent Esewezie under whose tenure most of these projects are coming, we are antagonizing him because he may have belong to the children of the lesser gods. Is it not commendable that within a short time, two gigantic projects – an ICT centre at Nkata Umueze and now a recycling industry is coming to Ibusa, no thanks to the dynamic leadership of Hon. Innocent Esewezie. My Holiness, Pope Nduka Okafor, I address you for the status you tend to portend. Please save us this bitter sermon in order to heat up the polity in the guise of drawing sympathy for our embattled brother. It will not work. Barr. Fred Ajudua is our brother in serious travail now. What he needs is our prayer. - PNI
