Ethical behavior: For old laws, most grey areas really are not - TopicsExpress

Ethical behavior: For old laws, most grey areas really are not grey areas. You do not change laws every time there is conflict with a particular situation (Ten Commandments). Society handles “grey” areas with interpretive regulations. Any time there are two parties that disagree with interpretation, go to the governing body and they will give guidance that binds all in that society to the same equal regulation. If any party disagrees, they are entitled to go to the legislature and have a clarifying law overturn the governing body’s interpretation. ETHICAL BEHAVIOR: It is not unethical to be incorrect. When Andy and Ken were trying to fire Sharron Watkins, that crossed an ethical boundary and the revelation set the tone for other managers beneath them that would chose rightfully to disagree unfavorably for the company with “grey areas”.
