Ethnic Blend 2014 Rainbow Choir Nagaland, in collaboration with the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Nagaland, organized Ethnic Blend 2014 under the theme Peace & Unity through Culture on 24th October, 2014 at Town Hall, Dimapur with Shri. Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, honble Minister, Road & Bridges, Parliamentary Affairs as the Chief Guest and Dr. Aotoshi, Director, Window Media as the Guest-of-Honor; Nagaland Post as Media Partner & Excel Printing Press, Chumukedima, as its printing partner. The programme started with an invocation prayer led by Rev. Pfokrelo, Pastor, Mao Baptist Church, 7th Mile, Chumukedima followed by folk fusion music presentation by Anuri Nienu. Minister Azo, while speaking at the function, call on Nagas to not only preserve their tradition & culture but also forge unity through culture. He said organizing event with such a theme was one way to unite societies divided on community lines or interests. Nagas were known for their honesty & hard-working and stressed on the need to preserve good values inherited from the past. Display of traditional dresses of the various Naga tribes were done with brief interpretations of its significances. Traditional dances were performed by Chekiye Cultural Troupe which was followed by speech by the Guest-of-Honor & Director, Window Media Dr. Aotoshi. After rounds of display of traditional attires, the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the President, Rainbow Choir Nagaland.
