Ethnic prejudice is endemic in the heart of many Nigerians, this - TopicsExpress

Ethnic prejudice is endemic in the heart of many Nigerians, this moribund value seem to have nourished in the heart of the young ones. What informed this piece is the comment of a young friend of mine, Bamidele Smith Aremu in one of my recent post #AjumobiMustGo, and dis was his comment: Why posting this ? Are you from Oyo state nor even a yoruba ? Do you really know whats going on there ? If our young ones could reason along this line of ethnic prejudice, I wonder what the future of Nigeria would be. Sincerely, the hope of a cohere Nigeria is deep. Ofcos this young man may nt have known Ive spent very close to 4 decades in oyo state. Its time Nigeria govt embark on true federalism and alienate disintegrating norms like state of origin, quota system, federal character. Very close to my family house in the village lives a Nigerian, he is a Yoruba by social segregation and has lived there for several decades too, but till dates they still refer to them as ofe nmanu, Im sure this man nor his children cant contest election, even at grassroot level simply cos theyre nt igbo. Same applies to all part of the country. Over 50yrs independence and yet we dnt cohere, we dnt co exist, we dnt trust each other. Till date we still have not resolve our difference. Nigeria is sitting on a tank of gun powder and may explode soon if all this ethno socia and religious segregation is not checked
