Eulogy for Peanut, The Best Cat Ever It is with heavy heart and great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Peanut, Best Cat Ever, also known as Nutster, Nutty Buddy, Nut Butt, NutterButter, FlufferNutter, Peanutster, PeanutHead and Jake. Peanut was the long-time companion of my Dad, with the two Best Friends often called “The Buddha Buddies” primarily because of the size of their respective bellies, Peanut weighing in at an average of 20 pounds, and was typically found draped across Dad’s own largess belly. Dad and Peanut could often be found watching AMC, TMC, ESPN or the Spanish channel, neither of whom understood a lick of Spanish. Peanut’s favorite foods were French fries, hamburgers and ice cream, in that order. He adored every human being he came in contact with, and had a special affinity for those who detested cats, making a beeline first for the leg, wrapping his cotton soft body around them until they had to reach down and touch his impossibly soft coat ensuring that they would not be able to resist further contact. When Dad’s health declined it was necessary to find an adoptive family for Peanut. The Amshel’s of Apollo Beach agreed to undergo the scrutiny of Peanut, who generously allowed the Amshel Family of Mom, Dad, 10-year old Raquel and 12-year old David to remain in their home, even allowing them to keep their own bedrooms, selflessly taking up in the guest bath vanity among the fresh clean linens, while the family members took up arguing as to who would get to have Peanut sleep with them that night. Peanut loved all and was loved by all, he will be deeply missed.
