Europe Highlights 6 Countries, 10 Days, $ 1,650 / Person France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium Day 1: London – Paris (Dinner. Alternative start point: Paris) Welcome to the tour! After leaving London and crossing the English Channel we arrive in Paris, ‘The City of Lights’. As we arrive we’ll take a guided coach tour and explore the city from the comfort of the Expat Explore coach. Your tour leader will show you the sights of the city – be sure to take note of all the places you want to visit tomorrow on your free day. After dinner, experience Parisian nightlife surrounding the Moulin Rouge and local bars! Day 2: Paris free day (Breakfast) Take the day to explore Paris your own way. From the historical attractions, charming boutiques, boulevards and cafes to the world-famous museums and galleries, Paris has something for everyone. cruise up the Seine River to the Eiffel Tower, visit Montparnasse, see world famous artworks at the Louvre, head to Montmartre to see the Sacre Coeur, or go to Disneyland for the day. Ask your Expat Explore tour leader for more ideas and suggestions. Day 3: Paris – Switzerland (Breakfast, dinner) Today we have an early start as we make our way to the Swiss Alps, aiming to arrive by late afternoon. Tonight well be staying in a typical mountain village in the heart of the Jungfrau region. One of the most visited places in the Alps, it is also a World Heritage site. Take in the gorgeous scenery! Day 4: Swiss Alps Free Day (Breakfast) The day is yours to enjoy the local scenery. One of the musts of the tour is the optional excursion to Jungfraujoch, also known as The Top of Europe. Youll catch a train through the mountain landscape all the way up to Europes highest railway station. The views are simply breathtaking - take a look at the glacier and enjoy the year-round snowy conditions. This is one trip that you wont forget anytime soon; guaranteed to put your head in the clouds! Day 5: Switzerland - Pisa – Florence (Breakfast) Today were off to Italy! Enjoy more breathtaking mountain views as we drive through Switzerland and on to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa! After some free time here we travel on to Florence, arriving in the late afternoon. Enjoy a walking tour of the city, and see the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, featuring Michelangelo’s ‘David’. Spend your evening in the heart of Florence. Day 6: Florence – Venice (Breakfast) Buon giorno Venice! This is one of the worlds most romantic cities. Spread across 118 islands, youll spend the afternoon discovering why this is such a must-see destination. See the famous Rialto Bridge, St Marks Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges Palace. Afterwards, sip on espresso, relax on a gondola or relax in one of the many piazzas. Day 7: Venice – Munich (Breakfast, dinner) We continue on to Munich, arriving in the late afternoon for an orientation tour. You may even get the chance for a beer in one of the famous beer halls before dinner. Prost! NOTE: Some tours stay overnight in Nuremberg instead of Munich. Day 8: Munich - The Rhine Valley (Breakfast, dinner) There is only one way to see the Rhine Valley, and that is from the deck of a river boat! Enjoy a refreshing beverage as you cruise down the Rhine River to your hotel, from St Goar to Boppard. Sights along the way include one of the most concentrated stretches of castles in Europe, vineyards, cliffs and medieval German towns. After a tasty German dinner, why not take a relaxing stroll along the river or enjoy the hospitality of the locals. Day 9: The Rhine Valley - Volendam – Amsterdam (Breakfast, dinner) We continue our journey and drive into the Netherlands where we will visit the windmill village of Zaanse Schans. After which we visit the famous Dutch fishing village of Volendam, and see for yourself why Picasso and Renoir chose to spend time there. Next, you will experience the art of traditional clog and cheese making. We then check into our hotel before joining an Amsterdam Canal cruise with pizza and ice cream on board. After the cruise you will have the opportunity to join your tour leader on a walking tour of the Red Light District. You can see the canals and Dam Square, and enjoy the rest of your time in this fascinating city! Day 10: Amsterdam - Bruges – London (Breakfast) The last day of your European tour already! After breakfast, it’s back to London with a short stop in Belgium on the way. Bruges is a beautiful medieval city which boasts many attractions, especially the famous Christmas markets every December. This last part of your journey is your chance to swap numbers and contact details with all of your new found friends, before you return to the UK. Cost Includes: • All Sightseeing, taxes and fees. • Night accommodations in twin rooms • Modern air conditioned coach with reclining seats, TV for showing DVDs, and toilet. • Any public transport used as part of the tour (excludes free days) • Free Expat Explore tour souvenir – a memorable gift of your once in a lifetime trip. • All Breakfasts and dinner for half of the tour nights. That is, if the tour is of 9 or 10days, we will provide dinner for 5 days.
