Europeans ruled India as colonies and so did many Arab Muslim rulers who Invaded India. Persian rulers includes Lodhi dynasty. Afghan invader Lodhi established Lodhi dynasty (see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lodi_dynasty) in 15th century. Most of them forced Muslim faith on Hindus. Auranzeb was the last Sunni ideology driven Mughal rulers who obeyed Caliphate in ME. Although after Akbar Muslim rulers were born in India they still pledged allegiance to ME based Caliphate. Akbar tried and failed to establish a faith by combining good practices of Muslim and Hindu faiths. He died as Sunni Muslim, not as the founder of India centric faith (akin to Sufi) that he had tried to establish. Partition of the British India is a good example of why caliphate political ideology dominated Muslims of India promoted the division of India. Even today Many South Asian Muslims are want-to-be Arabs even though there are Sufi and others who have developed Indian version of Muslim faith. In PK only Sunni - Wahabi style faith is practiced creating a large population of wanna be Arabs, who are labelled and degraded as Miskeens by Arabs. Whatever it was, it is water over the bridge type history so lets get over this debate and focus on present and future of Hindus and Muslims of Indian sub continent. Hindus and Muslims of Indian sub continent must live in Peace with each other because after all we are cousins and brothers. I know few of my Muslim friends might not like what I am mentioning but I must share the truth and its my responsibility to tell you the facts. My other reason of sharing the history with my friends is to let them know that their roots are with Indian Sub Continent and not with Arabs who look down on Pakistanis and hate when they call them brothers because they are very proud of their Arab ancestors instead of Muslim brotherhood. Besides they know very well that these Muslims from Indian sub continent are all converts. Iraqi Arabs look down on Kuwaiti Arabs and the purest of the purest Arab is suppose to be an Iraqi Arab whereas King Hassan of Jordan & Prince Aga Khan are suppose to be direct descendants of Prophet Mohammad. I personally witnessed in a function where a Pakistani Doctor was calling an influential Arab as brother which he listened couple of times after that he got upset and very angry and told him very bluntly that we are Arabs first and foremost and than Muslims whereas Muslims of Indian Sub Continent are no Arabs but converts so next time do not call me brother. This happened in front of 100 persons who all were representing senior positions in Middle East. If you want this story to be confirmed than please ask Hassan Nisar, he was a witness to this drama. Sooner we open our eyes to reality better for us! BTW Muslim historian Abū Rayḥān al-Bīrūnī (see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ab%C5%AB_Ray%E1%B8%A5%C4%81n_al-B%C4%ABr%C5%ABn%C4%AB) wrote a detailed travelogue describing attrocities by his boss, etc. I have his book and it is worth a read.
