Eusebius of Caesalia (260-339), a bishop of Caesalia, was one of the main figures among the early church fathers who contributed to form the Nicene Creed in order to defend the orthodox Christian faith against the threat of a heretic teaching in Arianism. Eusebus, together with Alexander (a bishop of Alexandria), urged Emperor Constantine to pay attention to the value of homousius (one essence) between Father (God) and Son (Jesus) and form a foundation of enacting Nicene Creed during the first ecumenical council in Nicene in Asian minor (Turkey) in 325.
