Evan is absolutely loving life these days, especially now that he got his cast off and no longer has to wear that pesky cone! We are happy to report that during a cast change last week, some x-rays of his front leg were taken and Evans leg is healed. Its not perfect, but it works well enough for him! We were also pleasantly surprised when Evan went for his weigh-in, and we saw that he passed the 40 pound mark! Woo hoo!! Evan was just 32 lbs. when he came to us so although 41 lbs. may not sound like much, this is great progress for our bubbly Boxer. It is obvious that Evan is feeling so much better physically, but his whole demeanor has changed as well. He no longer thinks that every meal is his last meal, as he did when he first arrived and was so completely emaciated. He is so happy, all the time. Evan has such a warm and friendly personality and is always ready to make new friends, as you will see in this video. It seems that Evan realizes that he is safe, taken care of, and loved, and that no harm will ever come to him again. Evan had such a tough time for quite a long time, but he has put that behind him and is focused on the wonderful life that lies ahead of him. Evan seems quite grateful for his second chance in life, and we are all so grateful to our compassionate and generous supporters that enabled us to help Evan by contributing to our Res-Q Fund. There is never a time when this fund is not needed and sadly, Evan will not be the last dog to come in needing our help. To make a donation to our Res-Q Fund to help with Evans medical expenses and so many others like him, please click here: ahscares.org/shop/item.asp?itemid=28&catid=5 In this video, youll see what we mean about the difference in our happy boy. After he bounces around, getting ready for his walk, he meets a staff members husband (Vinnies dad!) and just cant get enough of him! Evan definitely knows how to give those boxer hugs! Evan will need a couple more weeks to recuperate and then he will begin interviewing prospective families to give him the wonderful forever home that he deserves. Please stay tuned for more from our bubbly boxer, Evan. youtu.be/a7q8TyXp6iQ
