Evangelicals like to ignore--or ridicule--the prophecy made by - TopicsExpress

Evangelicals like to ignore--or ridicule--the prophecy made by Joseph Smith, first prophet of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints on Christmas Day, 1832. It is recorded in Doctrine and Covenants, Section 87. In it, the prophet predicted with pinpoint accuracy the U.S. Civil War, right down to the fact it would begin with South Carolinas rebellion, and that the rebels would seek help from Great Britain. The scary part for evangelicals is the fact that Joseph recorded the prophecy 29 years before the fact, and that he was murdered by a mob in 1844--17 years before it began. Evangelicals counter with the argument that it was a good guess, and anyone could have made it. Come on--how lame can you get...? Twenty-nine years before the fact is pretty good evidence against any such theory. Talk to the LDS missionaries, and hear the truth...!
