A new multi-media musical production that reimagines the Genesis story in ways that will forever change how you think about it. Eve Apart explores primal themes of feminine powers, to give them a stark and modern relevance. Using voice, music, video and choreography, Eve Apart explores gender identity, myth, religious paradigm and human nature. Eve Apart features a diverse cast of nine singers, a live musical ensemble and multi-media technology. The work was created by Tennessee composer Tim Hinck. The libretto is by Pittsburghs Kip Soteres, who created it as a tribute of love to his own Eve, wife and soprano Desiree Soteres, to fit her amazing range and talents as singer and actress. FEATURED PERFORMERS Jenifer Weber Donovan Smith as Serpent Tenor Donovan Smith was recently seen as Beppo (Paliacci) at Lyrique en Mer and Enjolras (Les Miserables) with Pittsburgh Musical Theater. Other roles include Gaston (Beauty & the Beast), The Cowardly Lion (The Wizard of Oz), Daddy Warbucks (Annie), Coalhouse Walker, Jr. (Ragtime), and Javert (Les Miserables). He is a graduate of Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh and studied vocal performance at Carnegie Mellon University. Desiree Soteres as Eve Soprano Desirée Soteres is equally at home in concert, musical theater and on the operatic stage and has been praised for her superb characterization and powerful vocal ability. She has appeared with opera companies and orchestras throughout the United States and abroad and is a frequent guest vocalist and recitalist. Her major roles include Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflote) and Cunegonde (Candide). She has premiered several works with Pittsburghs Alia Musica, and will premiere the role of Eve on September 5 at Chattanooga Theatre Center. Jenifer Weber as Nameless 2nd Soprano Jenifer Rose Weber has performed across the country and around the world, most notably as Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) in Salzburg, Austria; and in various orchestra and chamber concerts in Graz, Austria and Orvieto, Italy. Locally, she has sung with Undercroft Opera, Microscopic Opera and with Resonance Works. She is in the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus and can be seen in November in the Pittsburgh Opera production of Otello.
