Even When We Are Blessed We Show Defiant Behavior Even when God does good things for us, our sin nature will rebel. This happened with Saul, Israels first king. As time past while Saul was king, he became full of himself thinking he knew better than God and Gods prophet, Samuel. He overtly disobeyed Gods word that Samuel had given him. God ultimately rejected Saul as king because of his defiant behavior and anointed David to take his place. The Lord said in, 1st Samuel 15:23, For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. When God blesses us, we need to stay humble and obedient. Whatever talents, wisdom, riches, or power God has given us, it is still Gods. We are just stewards over Gods resources and these resources can be taken away. Pastor Rubin Wilson
