Even after ignoring the multiple non reasons elaborated by Mr. Jaganathan, this surreptitious fiction carefully inserted, needed a strong rebuttal. “Or take the Left. If there was one group that kept itself almost aloof from the nationalist freedom struggle, it was the Left, which drew inspiration from Stalin, and later Mao, in the pre- and post-independence eras.“ Really? The left played no role in the freedom struggle? The right question to ask would be, who else but the left and the INC ! If we focus only on the revolutionary struggle for freedom in India, after 1910, this was concentrated primarily in Undivided Bengal and Punjab. The key organizations such as the Jugantar, Anushilan Samiti and Hindustan Socialist Republican Association were largely left leaning and most key functionaries who survived the persecutions, joined either the INC or the CPI. Mr. Jaganathan, do you read what you write?
