Even back in the early days of the modern baseball game when racism was much more overt and widespread in America. When the great Jackie Roberson came into the game he was not widely accepted to say the least. Eventually first the players then the fans grew to love him if for nothing else but for his talent. His abilities, his contributions to the game. Even at the hight of all the negative backlash of his insertion to the game, never did an opponent leave the field of play. They played for the fans, for the love of the game. Because it was their job and it would violate their contracts if they didnt and they would have been fired. What is it about this President, this man that makes the other team pick up their ball and go home? I think maybe we are not as evolved as we might think we are. In my opinion America and in particular the right, or more to the point, the wrong, needs to do a lot of soul searching. And as team owners we need to live up to our responsibilities and fire the players that do not live up to their contracts.
