Even before I read the youtube comments on this one, Ive heard arguments aplenty about Old Bush versus New Bush, just as I have every other band that changed their sound over time--sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse, but thats subjective. Yes, their sound has evolved, but because it may be more accessible doesnt offer evidence that theyve sold out or succumbed to the commercialism demon. Would I be thrilled to hear an album from Bush that carries all the same vibes as their first albums? Sure. By the same token, Id love to read a new Stephen King novel that has the same feel as those published in the 80s and early 90s. Theres nostalgia there and appreciation. However, I also appreciate that writers, musicians, people mature, and their work with them.
