Even healthy children who dont eat processed sugar can still consume way too much sugar. Especially when eating raw superfood desserts, and consuming healthy treats. Children should not consume more than 12 GRAMS OF SUGAR PER DAY (guidelines for sugar intake are for added sugars, not for natural sugars found in carbohydrate-containing foods like fruits whole grains). Be sure to check the labels of your favorite healthy snack- you may be surprised by how far over 12 grams of added sugar your kids are getting per day! (via Green Tidings)
