Even, if for the sake of argument, this article was not an April - TopicsExpress

Even, if for the sake of argument, this article was not an April Fools joke, like the article states, there would not have been enough room for all the food to sustain 70,000 animals for 40 days (especially the carnivores), let alone the manpower to feed them and clean their stalls and cages. But this entire academic exercise is moot, considering that most of the animals would have had to travel decades in advance of the flood to reach the ark from their native habitats in Africa, Asia, and North & South America (meaning a multi-generational trek in large groups for protection and procreation). But wait, theres more: how would the species indigenous to Madagascar, Borneo, Australia, and other isolated land masses have made it across vast expanses of ocean? Only a Pangaea scenario MIGHT have worked, were it not for the multigenerational migration mentioned earlier, and the inconvenient fact that 6,000 years ago or even a million years ago, the continents were already separated. I wont even get into the absurd amount of manpower, materials, and time it would have taken for Noah and his extended family to build such a massive vessel, let alone the expertise. So for the mythological ark to have existed and fulfilled its mission, God would have had to teleport each remote species to the arks dry dock; magically separate all the species - from the smallest insect to the largest mammal - until they were safely quartered on board the ark, made all sea life adapt to a radically REDUCED salinity and all fresh water life adapted to radically INCREASED salinity, manifested all the food for the animals and eliminated their excrement and urine, soiled bedding material (or alternatively, suspended their animation so food or cleanup would not be necessary), and last but not least, magically eliminated all the decomposing, putrid carcasses of all the unlucky humans, flora, and fauna deemed unworthy of surviving the flood once the waters receded, and explained to Noah why before the flood, the laws of physics (specifically light and optics) were not obeyed with respect to rainbows. All of which seems to be a massive waste of Gods energies, since he could have magically willed all the evil humans out of existence in a nanosecond and thus preserved the earths ecosystem. Bottom line, anyone who literally believes the story of the biblical flood suffers from an irreversible mental disorder and should be told to seek voluntary psychiatric commitment.
