Even in todays society where everything is widely accepted and human rights are more evolved than ever, still could use some work in that category America, but none the less its still a day and age that my parents did not see and my grandparents certainly did not see. Its disheartening that adolescents are still pre disposed to ignorance from the people that should be teaching them. Where the word lesbian is used in a negative light instead of to describe someones preferences. Your Moms a lesbian ... not used to clarify the fact that a child has a mother who is in fact lesbian but instead used as an insult, as if the word is tainted and used in a negative light. I cant blame the mouth of babes but would like to really get inside their parents ear for about 5 minutes because with what I feel right about now, its all it would take. No one chooses to be a minority, no matter what situation you find yourself in, at some point somewhere those who judge and continue the vicious circle of negativity and ignorance will be the minority too. They too will eat a slice of karma pie one day. To those that teach you children that love is love and dont throw people in categories because they have different skin or hair or eyes or their clothes arent up to date and their mama has to visit the local food pantry to make ends meet, to those who teach their children that survival in this world means relying on all types of people, yes even under dogs and minorities, kudos to you and thanks. Im almost positive that your struggle at some point was real. So thanks for being good for humanity and helping your children know the difference between whats real and whats horseshit. To those who throw around harsh words and pass judgment on people because they arent like you, one day its gonna bite you in the ass so be careful what you wish for. Mind you manners and smarten up, these kiddos are the future. What is wrong people?!? Just needed to rant. Hope my kiddo has a better day at school and continues to stick up for what he knows is right. Never thought his adolescence period would be harder to get through for me than my own. Maybe if the parents cant teach tolerance the strong minded and good hearted children can.. Have a good Wednesday friends .. The week is half way over!
