Even more on point, Im afraid, is that cell phone manufacturers ALREADY have a six month obsolescence turnaround. Every six months or so the next gen of phones (and tablets are starting to be the same) come out. Why in the hell would they want a MODULAR phone that could cut into their profits? (Ignoring the fact that as of now there are components in all our electronics that are made of materials growing scarcer by the day). Its a bit like expecting Congress to vote to change things that directly benefit them. They wont. There is no other job on Earth, of which Im aware in which the workers are able to vote against an automatic pay raise.
