I love how this writer breaks humanity down to its core and contradicts the philosophy that human nature is at its core destined for good deeds. It attacks the theory of evolution and how we view ourselves as the supreme life-form in the universe. The story shows us that we can do little good, much harm, corruption and selfishness run deep, and for being so evolved we live on the same ground the rats scurry across. While we may survive brutal and cruel acts no one learns and ceases the campaign to destroy. We are all self centered and are willing to sacrifice those around us for our own gain. Humanity is not what we think it is. We have amounted to a pile of trash on this earth while being our own worst enemy and we will not cease to do so until God returns.
