Even though I still have tons of debt, I am extremely lucky that I was able to attend Belmont University for my undergraduate education. Roy Vogt, Jeff Kirk, and Bryan Clark were amazing teachers that I can never hope to top. I learned so much from them. And as I was listening to some Yellowjackets and Pat Metheny albums tonight, I realized how lucky I was to have the music school classmates that I did. I thought I was pretty terrible for the first year or so until Tim and Kory asked me to play on their recitals. Then, I thought I had made it. So, thanks Timothy Williams and Kory Caudill and all the others who seemed to play on all of the crazy jazz fusion recitals: Dwan Hill, Marcus Hill, Zander Wyatt, Matt Reviere, Greg Dampier. I miss playing with yall.
