Even though it has a good positive message, this new installment - TopicsExpress

Even though it has a good positive message, this new installment of Diary of a badman really shows that the cultural war in the war on terror has reached a new low. For people that dont know, during the cold war, the west financed artists, musicians, novelists etc to use cultural tools (music, movies etc) as a source of soft power to fight the cold war against the Soviet Union. The US has revived that methods it used to fight the cold war including a cultural war in the war on terror even though the muslims involved may not know of how their cultural projects, which they may have started with honourable intentions, may be placed in the current status quo. What is new about this Muslim cultural war is that many cultural projects are initiated without governmental assistance or acknowledgment but fall within this paradigm. Extremism within the muslim community is a problem and it needs to be dealt with, there is no denying that. Projects such as these can play a pivotal role but not in a way that reinforces the narrative of the war on terror. The muslim community isnt the only community that has this issue, where are the projects that deal with zionism in the jewish community? Or the buddhists in Burma? Or the hindus the believe in hindutva in india? Where are the projects that deal with militant athiests? Or evangelical christian zionists who believe in Americas manifest destiny to be the worlds policeman and preach to bring on world war 3???? Where are those projects???
