Even though nothing will ever live up to the original trilogy and anything that came after that has always and will always be a completely separate entity to me, I thought the new Star Wars teaser looked pretty decent and sounded great. Its hard to go wrong with Ben Burtt and John Williams. Considering the movie is a year away I wasnt expecting more than just enough of a glimpse at some random images to pique my curiosity and a money shot or two to quell the collective fanboy anxiety about how certain beloved elements from the original trilogy would be represented. Heres hoping for a decent story which I think is more important than anything and sadly missing in so many movies these days. I know nothing will live up to 32 years of boundless childhood curiosity about what would come next but I hope theyre decent films in their own right. I hope, like I hope with every film I see, that I will walk away having felt something. I will, however, reserve all judgement until I actually see it next December and even then Ill probably keep any negative opinions to myself because I know how impossibly difficult it is to please everyone.
