Even though we have been told to not talk to strangers I find it so sad that the majority of the world has lost the art of conversation :-( A hello results in a blank stare, people seem confused that someone is REALLY talking to them, it takes a minute to process that a stranger actually cares enough to say hello, to ask how their day is going and to smile. I always try to speak to the person on the other side of the counter or standing at the table taking my order, to REALLY speak to them, make eye contact, use their name if they say their name or have a name tag and to smile, and let them know that they are not invisible. I have also been known (often) to just smile and say hello to random people in lines, I always seem to know when someone needs to know that they arent invisible or need just a small bit of kindness in their day. A little kindness goes such a long way, we should all take a a moment as often as possible to brighten the world just a little bit:-) Otherwise, were just walking around like zombies going through the motions of life:-(
