Evening all. A few isolated showers around this evening. The heaviest of these affecting south west and central southern England where some are also thundery. Through tonight any showers will gradually die away and it will be a largely dry night ahead for most areas of the UK. Some decent clear spells at first but cloud increasing through the night with again the risk of some mist and fog patches which again will be most widespread across north eastern areas and near Irish Sea coasts, and also across southern parts of England and south Wales. The only real exceptions will be the far north of Scotland, the Western Isles and the Northern Isles where cloud will be thick enough to produce some patchy, light rain. It will be quite a mild night with lows by dawn of between 7 and 11 degrees. Wednesday will start off cloudy for many with some mist and fog patches, especially across north eastern areas, near Irish Sea coasts and across southern parts of England and south Wales. A few spots may see some early brightness and these brighter conditions should become more widespread, especially across Wales, many parts of England and Northern Ireland. However, many other areas will hang onto more cloud and we will see showers, some heavy, developing across northern areas which will merge into longer spells of rain at times. Cloud will increase during the afternoon across south west England and southern and central Wales with some patchy, showery rain spreading in. For Scotland, the Northern and Western Isles it will be a largely cloudy day with some mist and fog patches over eastern areas which may linger in a few spots whilst the best chance of any brightness will be across far western areas. Some patchy outbreaks of rain will affect northern parts of Scotland, the Northern Isles and the Western Isles whilst southern and central Scotland will see the increasing risk of showers, locally heavy which will tend to merge into longer spells of rain. The northern Isles will though see conditions turning drier with some sunny spells developing. Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man will see a largely cloudy start to the day. Some sunny spells will develop but there will also be the risk of a few scattered showers, particularly across western and central areas of Northern Ireland with eastern areas of Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man drier. England, Wales and the Isle of Wight should see the best of the sunny spells during Wednesday with any mist or fog lifting and the cloud breaking. However, cloud will thicken across south west England and southern and central parts of Wales during the afternoon with some showery, patchy outbreaks of rain arriving. Cloud will also build across north west England and northern Wales during the afternoon with the risk of showers developing. The midlands, north east England, East Anglia, south east and central southern England and the Isle of Wight will hang onto the best of the sunshine into the afternoon but there will be the risk of a few scattered showers. The risk of catching one of these showers will be highest across the Midlands and East Anglia but most places should avoid them. Another mild day for most with temperatures widely reaching 14 to 17 degrees and as high as 18-19 degrees across south eastern areas. It will though be turning colder across the Northern Isles, far north of Scotland and north eastern Scotland with high here of just 5-7 degrees by the afternoon. Matt.
