Evening everyone - Jaks had a mixed day again today but managed to walk halfway across the room with the physios:)he then went into his wheelchair n we popped into the wee Friends Shop at the door to get some goodies:) Jak as always was thinking of others and bought a wee dog for baby JJ- we will share his story with you tomorrow;) todays news is that jaks going to theatre tomorrow to get another chest drain put in as fluid still not shifting in his right lung and they are wanting to see if this is where the high temperatures are coming from. They will also take some bone marrow and spinal fluid via lumbar puncture and administer a little chemo into that at the same time. His amazing doctors are also keen all being well to get his next lot of chemo started on Monday at the latest as they were very happy with his response to the first lot so they want to get going again now his numbers are good:) Jak still has a lot is oedema due to the low protein and once the doctors are happy with the lung they will decide what they are doing re excess fluid. There is a possibility Jak may need respiration tomorrow for a while after theatre as drain going in so they have to ensure there is a space in Hdu incase its required. These are all positive steps forward. Im also hugely proud of my beautiful girl today who got her blood test for bone marrow compatibility and whatever the result is immaterial its the fact she was brave enough and strong enough to do this for her amazing brother:) its also Aimies 17th birthday tomorrow and we had planned to have a wee lunch in Jaks room to celebrate. This obviously wont happen tomorrow but we will reschedule but Aimies Driving Instructor has very kindly agreed to come out to the hospital for the duration Jak Is in and we are very grateful to him for this. We are hoping Jak will be back from theatre in time to see Aimie return from her first lesson- so if you are near sick kids between 2-30-3-30 Stay off the roads haha;) Please pray all the procedures are a complete success tomorrow and that Jak does not need to go to HDU and can return to his room right away in TCT.
