Evening post- Day 138. Big day here as Stone rebounded well from last night. We were officially discharged from Texas Childrens and readmitted into the care of the rehab team. The same building and same floor that has renal and GI, but totally different service so it has been just like changing hospitals but we are in the system and already participating. Each days activities will be posted on the board in the room. The length of time needed in rehab is reevaluated every week with the starting goal of four weeks. So our target discharge is Dec 4 th. This could change in either direction according to progress . We want to be careful not to rush it along just to get home as much as we want and need to be at home giving Stone the time and care he needs to recover is our priority . Praying that this is the last bed we will have before he gets in that plane to come back to Sweet home Alabama . For those of you whove been on board from the beginning you might recall my prayers of just asking God to open the next door for Stone and Lord let him live through surgery and God let him get off ecmo and God let them close up his surgical site and God, please get us off the ventilator. God let him wake up. God let him know his mama and daddy. God send us where we need to be. The list goes on and on. Every single time God as answered our prayers. Today is no different. The rehab people kept asking Amy and I for goals. They asked what would you like to see him doing. We very quickly reply we want everything that any 6 year old kid would be doing and we will settle for nothing less. Thats our goal. So lets get to work !! Show us what ya got . The train shot through an open door today . Sounds like Another prayer answered .. !! God bless you all and thanks for believing in miracles! Train keeps on moving. Choo! Choo!
