Evening post -Day 163. Stoneman had a good day. He woke up at the break of day as usual . He will sit straight up and look around for awhile and if Im not awake or moving he will slap the bed looking my way, until he has my full attention . Then he starts with a smile every day pointing at a toy that he wants. Thank you Lord! We are going down for an official swallow study tomorrow . This will determine, at least in the medical world, if hes ready to start eating . Please Pray tonight for good results. Lord we need this ng tube gone. Also tonight, I ask for your prayers for his kidneys . Again in the medical world they dont give them much of a chance to recover. But in their world Stone is not supposed to even be here. They cant explain that, so why should I believe that his kidneys cant recover. His urine output, as far as volume, is right on target . Pray hard with me for those kidneys to wake up and start doing the rest of the work God made them to do . The other issue thats showing great signs of improvement is pancreatic function. They just need a little more and we can throw two shots of insulin and 10 pokes of his fingers a day out the window of room 1042. Hes closer than ever people and Amy and I have to fight harder everyday to keep his care providers to not just be satisfied with where hes at right now and say thats pretty good for all hes been through. This line of thinking is unacceptable for us . God is not done with Stone. Yes much work to be done but hes ready and were ready. I have to catch the teams and redirect them from thinking too much about the Whats going to be happening when we go home mentality and I appreciate that but with all due respect lets deal with today first and maybe we can change the needs of the future. Im not in rehab to teach Stone to live with his impairments . Im here to defeat and overcome them. Join with me in prayer and agreement for 100% recovery .Oh yeah forgot to mention Stone took three steps on his own today also. He stood unassisted on the dialysis scales. Train rolls on!!
